About PhishSense

Project Overview

PhishSense is an interactive educational platform designed to help users recognize and defend against phishing attacks. Through simulation-based learning, PhishSense provides hands-on experience with real-world phishing scenarios in a safe, controlled environment.

Phishing remains one of the most prevalent cybersecurity threats today. By improving awareness and teaching users to identify phishing attempts, we can significantly reduce successful attacks and protect sensitive information across organizations and communities.

This project emphasizes education through practical experience, allowing learners to understand phishing mechanics, recognize red flags, and develop critical thinking skills in cybersecurity.

Project Goals

  1. Improve Phishing Awareness – Help users understand the techniques and psychology behind phishing attacks
  2. Train Recognition Skills – Develop the ability to identify phishing indicators such as suspicious links, sender addresses, and language patterns
  3. Measure Learning Progress – Provide feedback and progress tracking to evaluate improvement over time
  4. Support Educational Organizations – Offer a reliable tool for schools, universities, and training programs to teach cybersecurity fundamentals

Educational Context

PhishSense is a school project developed as part of an IT-focused curriculum at HTL (Höhere Technische Lehranstalt). This is an educational initiative focused on cybersecurity awareness and training.

Important: PhishSense does not use real company data, real employee credentials, or any actual organizational systems. All content is simulated for educational purposes only. Users interact with fictional scenarios designed to mirror real phishing attacks without any connection to real-world infrastructure.
